BATCH AND COLUMN STUDIES ON REMOVAL OF ERIOCHROME BLACK T DYE BY MICROALGAE BIOCHAR

<p>In this study, Chlorella vulgaris microalgae was cultivated from wastewater and converted into biochar through hydrothermal carbonization process. Acclimatization of resulted in a greater biomass yield 4.1 g/L 15 days Fog's medium to ratio 20:80. Microalgae process at temperature 350 °C. The batch adsorption studies for the removal Eriochrome Black T dye (EBT) aqueous solution performed by modifying various parameters. At an initial concentration 100 ppm, contact time 60 min, 30 °C, dosage 0.3 g, pH 7, best efficiency 82.31%. investigation isotherm kinetics revealed that followed pseudo-second order with Langmuir model. In addition, column investigations were carried out varying beads bed height. Encapsulated outperformed control hybrid terms efficiency. Column parameters such as metal ion concentration, height, flow rate optimised using BDST model.</p>
